Celebrating the life of
Darby Lee Sullivan
July 23, 1973 - November 27, 2015
Darby Davis Sullivan, 42, passed away at Memorial Medical Center with her family at her bedside. Darby was born in Savannah on July 23, 1973 and educated in all of Chatham County Schools. She graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy Class of 1992.
Her life as a little girl was filled with joy being with her Mama, Daddy and Nana. Her favorite memory was being on the water.
She was an active athlete growing up playing many sports including softball, basketball and numerous swim teams. Following in her mother’s footsteps George Ann as a great swimmer.
After High School graduation she moved to Minnesota where she began Real Estate. And later moved to San Diego to continue in Real Estate. After moving back to Savannah she went to work with her Daddy with R&D Rentals.
Later she met her husband, Chris Sullivan. They were married on February 28, 2004 . She fulfilled a dream that came true of having three beautiful children, two twin boys, Whitt and Styles, and her precious little look alike daughter Sayle. She was a stay at home mother and loved her children unconditionally.
Darby was a true daddy’s girl. They were each others rocks. There was a never ending bond between them and always will be.
She loved her Nana (Thelma W. Davis) and will be buried next to her. She had such quality and precious time with her. It seems this is the right resting place for her to be. She is smiling now knowing that she is back with her Nana.
She will be missed by so many loved ones, her Aunt Joyce, her best friends Jody, Jennifer, Noelle and many more.
But most of all Darby adored and loved her “little sister” Robyn, considering the age difference, Darby played so many roles as a mother, big sister, and best friend. They had an unbreakable and inreplaceable bond.
She always looked up to her Uncle Robbie for guidance and love as another father figure. She spoke so many times of him playing the guitar, and singing Mr. Bo Jangles, to her as a little girl. And loved to hear stories of his football days.
Survivors: husband, Chris Sullivan; children, twin boys, Whittle Brynn “Whitt” and Styles Christopher age 6; daughter, Sayle Leigh, age 3; father, Ronald (Ronnie) Davis; mother, George Ann; Uncle Robbie (Snake) Davis; love of her life first cousin ‘little sister” Robyn Celia Davis Palmer and her three children, Carson Nora, Chaz and Whalen; and many other close and extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be at the Fox and Weeks Hodgson Chapel from 10:30 - 11:30am Thursday, December 3, 2015. Funeral will start at 11:30 am, with Father Patrick OBrien and Pastor Chris Hunt, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn.
In celebration of her life the family will meet at The Colombian Club, 3 West Liberty at Bull, where the Knights of Columbus meet upstairs, from 2:30 to 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude or St Vincent’s, in her memory.
I am so sad to read about her passing. She was a friend in Minnesota during crucial times in both of our lives and was always cool to talk to. I can't imagine how this vibrant person could have left us already.

I remember the first time I met Darby. We sat out back of the house under the big umbrella while Whitt & Styles napped and my daughter, Marie, sat at the edge of the pool with her feet dangling in the water. Darby & I talked for what seemed like hours, as if we were old friends. I count myself lucky to have had the chance to call Darby my friend. She was beautiful inside & out, & she had such a good heart. Above all else, her heart belonged to God; her wonderful husband, Chris; & her 3 beautiful children, Whitt, Styles, & Sayle. I wish the best for all of you as y'all begin to move forward in life. I know we will all meet up with Darby one day. God bless & keep you.
